It all began with symptoms I started having light blood and was spotting. I googled and the information received indicated cancer. I never skipped my yearly health checkups. When I first saw my new OBGYN, he stated that my pap test was normal. I advised him that I was spotting light blood.During that initial exam, he suggested an ultrasound to establish that my fibroids had not changed. He advised me that my ultrasound was normal and made a return appointment for one year. I pressed the issue and asked what about the spotting? He said he could order an Ablation and he stated that someone would schedule it and contact me.On my way home I felt that he was missing something, and I decided to google a 5-star GYN. I called and made a appointment and I went to see her and advised her of what my previous GYN doctor had done. I told her that I felt he missed something, and she said yes, he had. He did not do a Biopsy. She explained the procedure and I agreed to have it done. However, I was on my way back from a funeral of a family member, when I received a call from my OBGYN, informing me I had a type of uterine cancer called endometrial cancer stage 1, I was shocked, and I knew that I had to keep the faith an run the race. No one in my family has dealt with cancer like this, I remember thinking. That phone call began a battle I hadn’t planned for but was fully prepared to take on.
